Dubai: Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health on Tuesday announced the detection of 216 new cases of coronavirus infection, pushing the country’s overall tally of COVID-19 infections to 118,994.

One more death have been reported, taking the death toll to 198, the ministry said in its latest coronavirus updates. The dead is an 81-year-old man.

The ministry revealed the recovery of 228 infected people, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 115,895. There are 2,901 active cases, including 389 critically ill patients under treatment, while 65 other patients are under intensive care.

The country’s total PCR tests conducted climbed to 634,745 after further 4,914 people have been tested for COVID-19 during the last 24 hours.
