Muscat: Oman has decided to set up a National |Museum in Muscat at the cost of 11,950,000 Omani riyals, according to a report by Oman News Agency (ONA) on Saturday.
Construction work on the imposing edifice of the National Museum is set to begin on a site located within a stone’s throw from - Al Alam Palace in Old Muscat.
Leading construction firm Carillion Alawi LLC was awarded the contract to build the facility at a signing ceremony held at the Ministry last month.
The new big edifice being built in Oman or on the anvil are the Royal Opera House at Qurum, the new Majlis Ashura premises near the Al Bustan Palace Hotel and the proposed Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre at the Muscat Airport Heights.
