Cairo: Oman has confirmed 568 new cases of the coronavirus over the past 24 hours, taking its total infections to 95,907, the country’s Health Minister Dr. Ahmed Al Saeedi said today.
The country’s total deaths from COVID-19 has risen to 885 with 10 new fatalities, according to the minister.

There are 36,734 people in home isolation and 203 more persons being in institutional quarantine, Dr. Al Saeedi told a press conference in Muscat.
He added that recoveries in the sultanate have dropped to 91 per cent. “This does not mean that the recovery rates are reetreating, but it shows an increase in cases,” he explained, according to the Omani news agency ONA.
In recent weeks, Oman has eased several virus-related restrictions. In mid-August, Oman lifted a ban on night-time movement that was imposed to curb the spread of COVID-19. The sultanate plans to resume regular international flights as of October 1.
