Dubai: Two Kuwaiti teachers lodged a case against the Ministry of Education protesting their illegal termination after almost 16 years of service, Al Anba Arabic daily reported.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Education terminated the two teachers, based on a letter from the Civil Service Commission (CSC) that recommended their termination because their appointment was illegal.
The teachers filed the lawsuit demanding their employment rights claiming their termination was illegal.
Sources told the Arabic daily that the two teachers, who completed their studies outside the country in 2004, got their certificates the Ministry of Higher Education accredited, and later were hired as teachers, sources added.
The newspaper said that the ministry was surprised upon receiving the CSC’s letter recommending the termination of the teachers after all these years of employment on grounds that The ministry immediately implemented the commission’s recommendation, prompting the two teachers to file a case and demand for their employment rights.
