Kuwait City: Kuwait’s State Security Agency handed over three Egyptians to Interpol on charges of inciting chaos and organizing demonstrations against the Egyptian regime, local media reported.

A senior source told Al Qabas that the three men were arrested in Farwaniya, after an investigation team found that they were calling on Egyptians to abandon the system and protest against their government.

Once they were captured, they were handed over to the Egyptian Interpol, as there is a long history of coordination between the Kuwaiti security authorities and their Egyptian counterparts. This is not the first time that Kuwaiti security hands over criminals to the Egyptian authorities.

Hiding in Kuwait

Last year, an Egyptian man was arrested in Kuwait and handed over to the Egyptian Interpol for connection to criminal cases. The suspect allegedly escaped from Egypt and was hiding in Kuwait for two years before security officials found him.

The two Arab countries share a long history of joint cooperation, from security to trade and Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, has met with the late Emir, Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah, on several occasions.

In 2019, Egypt exported $276.42 million to Kuwait, a large portion of which were fruits and vegetables, including electronic equipment. As for Kuwait, in 2018 it exported to Egypt $52.54 million, which mostly were machinery and building materials.
