Fire at Kuwait's biggest oil refinery under control
Dubai: A fire at Kuwait's largest refinery has not affected the plant's operations, Kuwait's state news agency KUNA quoted an oil official as saying on Wednesday.
"We have controlled the fire without any casualties," KUNA quoted Kuwait National Petroleum Company spokesman Mohammad Al Ajami as saying. "The operation of the refinery has not been affected by the accident."
A fire that broke out at Kuwait's largest oil refinery, Mina Al Ahmadi, earlier on Wednesday , said Ahmad Al Muzzaiel, a spokesman for the Kuwait National Petroleum Company.
The fire took place in a crane positioned between one tank filled with gasoline and another that was empty, the spokesman said.
The refinery has capacity to process 460,000 barrels per day of crude.
