Dubai: Kuwaiti Scoop TV channel on Wednesday suddenly cut a live studio broadcast of the ‘Voice of the People’ show while announcer Fahd Salama was on air over fears he had coronavirus.
“Scoop channel has cut live transmission of the ‘Voice of People’ show after the channel suspected that the announcer Fahad Salama has been infected with COVID-19,” the channel said on Twitter. “Please your prayers for him and his wife. Please your wishes of a speedy recovery for his wife, who has been admitted to the intensive care unit.”
Just a few days earlier, Salama announced on Twitter that his wife had tested positive for coronavirus and in intensive care. “My wife is seriously ill after contracting coronavirus. Her health condition is unstable, please pray for her,” he tweeted.
On Thursday, Salama confirmed that he had tested positive for COVID-19.
His colleagues and followers reacted immediately and wished him a swift recovery.
