Manama: Bahrain's Prime Minister Shaikh Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa visited a group of UAE nationals to enquire about their health after they were assaulted by unknown attackers.

"We want to assure you of Bahrain's popular and official support, particularly that the leaders and people of the UAE live in the heart if every Bahraini. This love for your people is profound and deep-rooted, just like the relations between our two countries," Shaikh Khalifa told the UAE nationals at their hotel in Manama.

"The people of Bahrain are highly hospitable and do not tolerate any act of aggression against anyone," Shaikh Khalifa said.

Sources told Gulf News that the UAE nationals were assaulted in their car as they were driving in Manama on Wednesday evening.

No details were yet available, but Bahrain News Agency said that the Interior Ministry and security forces were still investigating the rare incident.
