Qureshi to discuss aid bill in US
Islamabad: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmoud Qureshi left yesterday for the US to convey Pakistan's concerns over the controversial clauses of the American Kerry-Lugar aid bill.
The decision to send Qureshi to Washington followed intense debate in the parliament and consultations among civilian and military leaders on the bill providing $1.5 billion aid annually to Pakistan for five years.
The opposition parties as well as political allies of the ruling Pakistan People's Party have strongly opposed the legislation.
