Pakistani investigators visit Germany
Berlin: Investigators from Pakistan are in Berlin to determine whether a Pakistani man who died in a German prison cell in an apparent suicide could have been murdered, officials said.
Amir Cheema, 28, died in custody on May 3 after he was arrested in March on charges of attempting to kill the editor of the German newspaper Die Welt for reprinting religious cartoons.
"The team is here and the autopsy was conducted in their presence," a Berlin-based official said.
"They saw the cell where he died. They are currently in discussions with German authorities and will release their assessment only after they have given it to the government of Pakistan."
