Hoti nominated
Islamabad: The Awami National Party (ANP), a Pasthun party with secular views, on Friday nominated Amir Haider Khan Hoti for the post of chief minister in the militancy-plagued North West Frontier Province (NWFP).
ANP emerged as the largest party in the 124-member provincial assembly after elections to the federal parliament and provincial assemblies held on February 18.
Hoti, elected from Mardan district, is son of a central party leader and former federal communications minister Azam Khan Hoti. He is a nephew of ANP chief Asfandyar Wali Khan.
