Six Indian professors arrested for gang-raping young girl

Ahmedabad: Six male teachers have been arrested for gang-raping a young female student and molesting several other women at a state college in western India, police said on Tuesday.

The 18-year-old female, a trainee teacher, fainted in a college assembly on Monday, before breaking down in front of the college doctor and saying she'd been repeatedly raped.

The girl says the professors of the Primary Teacher's Training College attacked her 14 times over a period of six months, police said.

Angered students and parents vandalised the college building and attacked the professors before police arrested them.

More than 90 young women at the college have since added their complaints of sexual harassment, police said.
