Twelve-year-old Suchetha Satish, who had set a world record by singing in 102 languages on the eve of the Indian Republic Day this year at the Indian Consulate,  has come out with an album titled ‘Shawwal Pira’ for all the people who fast during the month of Ramadan.

Suchetha, who hails from Kannur in Kerala, is a student of the Indian High School in Dubai holds the record certified by the US-based World Record Academy. She also holds the world record for the longest live singing concert by a child.

‘Shawwal Pira’ album was released last week by renowned music director M Jayachandran along with Anwar Naha, the president of Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre, a Community Development Authority recognized organisation in Dubai. The lyrics and music for the album has been composed by Ajay Gopal, who is also a proficient singer.

Speaking while releasing the album, the national award winning music director Jayachandran said: “The feeling I got while listening to the songs was meditative. Devotional songs, be it for any religion, the theme will be of love and kindness and so this song too will spread these two qualities. Let this song guide Suchetha and Ajay to great heights and the songs become very popular.”

Ajay Gopal has made his entry into Malayalam films by penning a popular song in the oncoming magnum opus movie ‘Mamangam’ composed by Jayachandran. This song - a lullaby by Bombay Jayashree for Mamangam and produced by Dubai-based Venu Kunnapilly - is expected to be a super-hit song.

Suchetha dedicated the song to Oscar award winning music director A R Rahman.

Speaking to Gulf News, Suchetha said: “I thoroughly enjoy working with Ajay Gopal with whom I have recorded four songs. This one is very special as I have received very good reviews.  A renowned music director like Jayachandran, releasing the album is a big boost.”

Suchetha revealed that the Tamil and Urdu versions of the song will be released shortly. The lyrics translation from the original song is being done by Kris Venugopal, the popular media personality and voice coach.

Incidentally, in February Suchetha was among the two artists who performed at the Dubai Opera House during the community reception event in honour of Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.

Suchetha is the daughter of Dr T C Satish, a dermatologist with Axon Medica, and mother Sumitha, who are both very active in promoting cultural activities in the UAE.
