Dubai: There is never quite a dull moment with Virat Kohli. The Indian skipper in all formats may have taken a break from the ongoing three-match T20 series against the West Indies, but he made enough news on a day when he stepped into the 30s club on Monday.

If November 5 began with Anushka Sharma, his Bollywood actor wife, posting two adorable pictures of the power couple on her Facebook page, Kohli launched the ‘Virat Kohli Official App’ with an announcement on his official Twitter handle. The app, which can be downloaded on smart phones and i-pads, will provide more exclusive content about him to establish a better connect with the fans — and will more importantly entitle fans for a 20% discount on their purchases from selected Puma stores.

“Every year you guys send me so much birthday love. Time for me to return the love with some added sweetener for Diwali,” Kohli tweeted, before explaining about the official app in a video message. The app has been conceived and presented by Cornerstone Sports and Entertainment Private Limited, the Mumbai-based company which handles his portfolio.

The twitterati, meanwhile, had been on an overdrive to wish the master batsman on his 30th birthday. “To many more match-winning knocks, here’s wishing #TeamIndia Captain and Run Machine @imVkohli a very happy birthday #HappyBirthdayVK,” wrote Board of Control for Cricket in India.
