Whitney Houston sets one-night date with Dubai

Singer-actress Whitney Houston will serenade up to 6,000 people in an exclusive Valentine's night concert here. The pop diva's one-off gig will feature her songs of love and romance hummed by millions across the world.

The Valentine concert is expected to last about 75 minutes at Nad Al Sheba Club's special concert venue.

Whitney, who has not done major concerts in recent years, has decided to come here after a two-night show in Russia, said the organisers.

"It will be a perfect night with the perfect artist," said Jackie Wartanian, managing director of Centre Stage Management (CSM), the event's organisers.

Whitney will have a 35-member entourage, including her band and daughter. Her concert is another add-on to the Dubai Shopping Festival's attractions this year.
