Dubai: Scattered showers fell all over the country Friday and are expected to continue on Saturday and Sunday, according to the duty forecaster at the Abu Dhabi Met office.

The highest rainfall was in the western region where 31.2mm of rain fell between Thursday evening and 3.30pm on Friday in Al Ghuwaifat.

The whole country is experiencing light cloud cover which has moved in from westerly winds. “This type of weather and drop in temperature is totally expected at this time of year,” said the forecaster.

The highest temperature on Friday was 22.5 degrees Celsius in the Northern Emirates. “This is a drop of 3-4 degrees from what we were experiencing in the week,” he said.

North-westerly winds are bringing the clouds from Saudi Arabia and should remain over the UAE for the next two days, with a continued chance of scattered rainfall.
