Abu Dhabi: Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior, commended the efforts of the media in covering Tuesday's horrific accident and creating public awareness.

He said the media coverage of the accident on the Abu Dhabi-Dubai highway objectively and transparently done and had a positive impact on all segments of the society.

He praised the efforts of the radio stations in the country who broadcast the details of the accident with a sense of national responsibility to make public and road users aware about the actual situation on the road and to educate them about the weather conditions.

"These efforts contributed to limiting the number of fatalities and helped prevent the accident from spreading", he said.

- Don't jump the red light

- Don't speed

- Use indicator lights when changing lanes

- Do not change lanes very frequently

- Always use your seat belt

- Use the horn only when necessary

- Be tolerant and avoid getting angry

- Reduce speed in residential areas
