Sharjah: A new bus route will start operating here from tomorrow that will transport passengers to Al Hamriyah, it was announced on Tuesday.
Abdullah Mohammad Al Zari, director general of Sharjah Transport, told Gulf News that the new bus route, No 114, will transport passengers between the two bus stations of Al Jubail and Al Rolla.
"The new route was created in order to meet the public demand who previously submitted their request to the station manager at Al Jubail, demanding that they wanted a stop at the residential area of Al Hamriyah," said Al Zari.
The fare towards Al Hamriyah remains Dh5, just like the fares on other routes
"The popularity of public transport is very high so far and since the beginning of the year we received an average of 94 per cent of passengers per bus, which equals to a rate of 48,102 passengers per year and 9,621 passengers per month."
