Lucky escape for family of seven in horrific crash
Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah: A family of seven escaped death after the car in which they were travelling rolled over before crashing on the Masafi-Fujairah road.
All seven family members, including four children under the age of ten, were taken to Fujairah Hospital on Tuesday at 4.30am.
Two were discharged soon after, but five were kept overnight under medical observation.
The family was on the way to Khor Fakkan from Sharjah. The 19-year-old driver claimed to have been startled by an animal on the road, which he didn't identify. It is not uncommon to encounter farm animals like donkeys on the mountainous routes of the east coast.
