Fog disrupts flights and road traffic

Dubai: More than 90 people were injured in 150 traffic accidents when heavy fog blanketed Dubai and Sharjah yesterday morning.

Twenty incoming flights were diverted and countless outbound services were delayed.

The Dubai Police Control and Command Room reported 152 accidents from 6.58 to 9am, blamed on low visibility, speeding and not leaving enough space between vehicles. No fatalities were reported.

More than 50 people sustained minor injuries in a collision involving three buses on Al Khail Road, while 35 vehicles collided on the Dubai-Al Ain Road, police said.
