Dubai: The Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation began a six-week training initiative for 20 selected translators under 'Turjuman', its first pan-Arab training programme aiming to qualify professional translators.
The course, which is underway at the American University in Sharjah, will span 120 training hours.
Ali Al Sha'ali, Director of Publishing, Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, said: "Our multi-tier strategy not only focuses on the translation of international best sellers to make them available to the average Arab reader, it also places special emphasis on creating a pool of highly skilled translators to ensure the delivery of quality end-products."
