Sharjah ruler checks progress on projects
Sharjah: His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on Wednesday paid an inspection visit to Al Batayeh area in line with his keenness to follow up the government's efforts to develop and provide services to different parts of the emirate.
Shaikh Sultan started his tour of Al Batayeh area by visiting Al Rafeea' park for women and children. The Al Rafeea' park and three others are being developed at a total cost of Dh14 million. He then inspected the progress of work on Al Hewaya park for women, before heading to Al Rafeea'-Al Zubair road.
Shaikh Sultan also visited the new headquarters of Al Batayeh Municipality and inspected the progress of work on a number of vital projects costing Dh20 million.

He was also briefed on the progress of work on other development projects.
He stopped at a number of facilities in the area, including a shopping complex, a health care clinic and Al Batayeh Club among others.
Shaikh Sultan was accompanied by Shaikh Khalid Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Director-General of the Department of Public Works, Salem Bin Mohammad Salem Al Owais, chairman of the Department of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture and Rashid Ahmad Bin Al Shaikh, Director General of the Emiri Court.
In old Shabiat Bin Suwaidan, Shaikh Sultan was received by Ali Salem Bel Rasheed, Chairman of Al Batayeh Municipal Council and citizens there.
