Sharjah Charity supports Palestinian orphans

Sharjah: The Scientific Council of the Salafiyeh Call in Palestine yesterday approved the distribution of financial assistance provided by the Sharjah Charity International (SCI) to benefit 5,987 orphans.

The assistance seeks to improve the conditions of orphans’ and their closest relatives and provide them with their everyday needs.

Abdullah Sultan Bin Khadim, executive director of SCI, said that the group’s orphan sponsorship programme supports more than 22,000 orphans in 23 countries, and that the number of sponsored families currently stands at 300. The group has spent Dh33 million in financial assistance in 2011, he added.
