Role of Indian workers in development hailed
Abu Dhabi: General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed forces, on Tuesday received Indian Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee.
They discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation in service, economic and investment sectors.
Shaikh Mohammad expressed his appreciation at the effective role of Indian labour and their contributions to developmental projects in the country. He underlined the importance of benefitting from the assets and capabilities of both countries.
Shaikh Mohammad and Mukherjee exchanged views on the latest developments on the international arena and a number of issues of mutual concern. The Indian minister conveyed the Indian leadership's appreciation to the UAE's leadership and people for the welfare and care the Indian labour enjoy in the UAE.
Briefing the media on this meeting which was held yesterday in Abu Dhabi, Talmiz Ahmad, the Indian ambassador to the UAE said that it was heart warming when Shaikh Mohammad talked in length on the contribution made by the Indian community the country's growth.
He said that discussions relating to defence cooperation between the two countries were general in character. "There is a proposal for a high-level defence chiefs visit, moreover our naval visits are also well received," said Ahmad.
