Red Crescent launches aid drive for Gaza
Abu Dhabi: The UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) is organising a fund raising campaign in aid of the Palestinian people in Gaza.
The move is in line with the directives of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the RCA.
Media cooperation
The campaign will be launched through the media in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Media Company, to draw the attention to the suffering of the Palestinians and motivate the public to support them through donations.
Dr Ali Bin Abdullah Al Ka'abi, Board Chairman of the RCA, said the authority has set plans and made arrangements to improve the humanitarian situation of Palestinians in Gaza. The RCA has mobilised all its working and voluntary cadres to step up support operations and will organise an open day on Friday in cooperation with Abu Dhabi TV and other media outlets. It also cooperates with the Ministry of Justice and other authorities to mobilise support through mosques.
The RCA branches around the UAE are receiving financial and material donations all day.
The RCA is implementing a relief programme in Gaza since the outbreak of the barbaric Israeli invasion in cooperation with UNRWA, International Red Cross Committee and the Palestinian Red Crescent society.
