Plan to build mosque for 'martyr of Al Rams'
Ras Al Khaimah: In memory of Nasser Ahmad Al Tunaiji, the man who sacrificed his life to save his two young sons, Emiratis of Al Rams area launched on Monday a charitable project to build a mosque and dig a well to be named after him in a Muslim country.
Ebrahim Mohammad Al Yamazi, coordinator of the project, said any excess funds raised would be used to build a school dedicated for memorising the Holy Quran will be added.
He said Al Tunaiji was known for his preachings on Islam. Al Yamazi said his death was a shock for people of Al Rams area.
Thousands of people took part in the funeral of Al Tunaiji who is by Islamic teachings considered a martyr who will be remembered forever.
Al Yamazi said the charitable project for 'the Al Rams martyr' has already started receiving donations.
The project has set up a bank account for donations at Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Account No. 10757987. The beneficiary country will be announced later.
