Al Ain: People with special needs could get inspiration from a disabled American pilot who has been staging a dazzling night display on board a glider.

The organisers of Al Ain Aerobatics Show 2006 have also extended an open invitation to special needs institutions in the country to attend the show and meet the pilot Dan Buchanan.

"His dazzling night displays give an example for challenging paralysis and making extraordinary achievements," said an official of Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, the organisers of the air show.

Dan Buchanan's show is a sort of motivation for the special needs people who can develop their skills and enhance their role in society through activities that give them self-confidence. They can also get the inspiration to challenge difficulties and practice their hobbies regardless of the problem they have, the officials said.

The 47-year-old American pilot was paralysed in 1981 due to an accident.
