Mohammad promotes dnrd chief
Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, issued a decision promoting Mohammad Ahmad Al Merri, Director of the Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department, from Brigadier to Major General. The promotion was announced yesterday by Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Dubai Police Chief, who thanked Shaikh Mohammad for his decision and the trust he bestows upon national leaders.
Major naval warship project
Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Ship Building, Arabian Gulf's only specialised naval warship builder, has been awarded 'Al Saber' Project, a multi-million dollar contract to build 12 patrol boats for the UAE Coast Guard. The 34-metre boats, constructed in composite materials, have a 'Mother-Daughter' design. The 'mother' vessel has a stern ramp that accommodates a smaller, high-speed, 'daughter' boat, which will be used for fast interception. The patrol boats will be laminated in Abu Dhabi Ship Building's new state-of-the-art Composite Workshop at the company's Musaffah shipyard.
