Emaar had put up notice at the entrance of Travo's underground car park

Dubai: A controversial notice put up in an apartment block threatening to name and shame owners who have not paid their maintenance fees has been taken down.
People living in the Travo A building in The Greens were warned that unless the payments, including late charges, were made they would be named publicly.
The notice had been posted by developer Emaar in the underground car park.
A woman who lives in the apartment block, who had contacted XPRESS three weeks ago when the notice was first put up, said she believes it was taken down around a week ago.
The woman, who did not wish to be named, said she has not paid her community service fees and had been concerned her name could be among those listed in public. "I haven't been down to the basement car park for a while but when I did go about a week ago I saw that they had removed it. I haven't been able to pay because of other financial issues," she said.
She has accumulated Dh14,000 as pending community fees since March this year, which doesn't include late payment penalty charges.
The note was replaced by another advising people to log on to www.greensandviews.com to see the original message.
