Modhesh Fun City flings its doors open

Dubai: DSS mascot Modhesh has opened the doors at his huge Fun City in the Dubai World Trade Centre's convention centre.

Spread across a sprawling 16,000 square metres, the Modhesh Fun City occupies halls two to six of the convention centre.

Yousuf Mubarak, DSS events, operations and services director, said: "This year's newest attractions include a dedicated music zone which takes you on a musical journey around the world and gives you a chance to experience musical ecstasy from different cultures."

The Music Zone has been created in Hall five of DICC, while the Toddlers Zone, offering a ball pool, soft play zone, chldren's playground and mini stage for competitions and games, is another brand new addition to the MFC this year, said Mubarak.

"The idea behind the Modhesh Fun City is to enable children to hone their skills in a fun way that's the reason we have dedicated zones for different activities be it arts, sports or theatre and music," he said. Features include a dedicated entertainment hall with international stage shows, football matches on TV and movies on the latest 4D cinema. There is also a funfair area with children's rides and games. For those seeking an outlet to showcase their talents a talent hall has been opened complete with art and craft, sand art and sculpting zones. The Tech Hall comes with touch screen games and high-tech facilities while the Construction Hall offers a giant puzzle corner for some exercise of the mind.

The Adventure Hall houses bouncing castles and a sports zone with facilities to play basketball and football to encourage sporting talents among the youngsters. The Services Hall has a Modhesh Salon for haircuts, the Modhesh Studio to take photos home and a merchandise store.

What's on, when and how much

On weekdays shoppers can join in the fun from 10am to 10pm while on Wednesdays and Thursdays the doors are open from 10am to 11pm. On Fridays the timings are 3 to 11pm. Modhesh Fun City will remain open throughout the DSS until September 1.

Entry tickets are priced at Dh5 for children from ages 2 to 12 and Dh10 for children and adults 12 and above.
