Man drowns in Umm Al Quwain

Umm Al Quwain: A 54-year-old Egyptian man drowned on Friday morning while his children were playing on the beach.

The victim has been identified as M.M

The rescue unit and coastguards managed to take out his body which was taken to Umm Al Quwain Hospital.

A police official said they received a call from a beachgoer at around 7.30am. He told the police and rescue team he saw the man struggling while his children were playing on the beach.

Two days before the incident the rescue team at Umm Al Quwain police rescued seven people who were at risk of drowning.

Umm Al Quwain police have advised swimmers to avoid swimming if the current is strong and to always wear safety jackets.
