Adac re-opens the access roads to Abu Dhabi International Airport
Abu Dhabi: The main routes to the departure and arrival gates at Terminals 1 and 3 at Abu Dhabi International Airport have been reopened after necessary construction work, the Abu Dhabi Airports Company (Adac) announced on Monday.
The access roads to Abu Dhabi International Airport have been re-opened after removing the diversions, enabling travellers to enter Terminals 1 and 3 from the upper kerbside as per the pre-construction period.
Access routes were diverted for 60 days due to some construction work at the capital’s airport to facilitate the construction project which connects the new travellers’ tunnel with the arrivals hall.
The new projects will allow travellers to access parking, taxis and limousines just 20 metres away from the customs lounge, versus the current distance of 140 metres.
According to the airport’s capacity enhancement plan, Adac has announced that the terminals will increase capacity to 20 million passengers, The construction of tunnels and the expansion of the arrivals hall are vital components to ensure that the airport is best equipped to handle anticipated growth in passengers, according to Adac spokesmen.
