Light rain expected in western region

Al Ain: Weathermen expect light rain in the western areas in the next few days, saying the rain system may extend to other parts of the country by Wednesday.

People in the UAE have been enjoying mild daytime winter weather in general that becomes rather cold at night. The conditions are expected to turn windy in the western region with rising dust.

"We are anticipating fair to partly cloudy weather and the amount of clouds will gradually increase by Tuesday afternoon," said a meteorologist. In its weather outlook for the next 48 hours the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) also hinted about windy and rainy condition.

"Clouds amount will gradually increase with a chance over the western areas during evening and night. Extending to other areas by Wednesday afternoon," said the forecast.

The south-easterly and north-easterly winds would be mild at first, then gaining a speed of 18 knots kicking dust and sand in the open areas. Sea will also become rough with four to seven feet high waves offshore.

The maximum temperate in the UAE is currently around 32 degree Celsius.
