Dubai: Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram gave a scintillating performance at the Madinat Arena in Dubai on Friday. Over 2,500 people attended the concert which started at 11.30pm.

The event was organised by New Music channel.

Revellers danced until 4 am at Madinat Arena on the first night of Eid concerts being staged at the Dubai venue during the festive holiday.

The first of three top Arab singers in the line-up was Fares Karam who appeared just before 12 midnight. The star got the audience on their feet with his performance which concluded with the much-requested number, Tannura.

Then came superstar Nancy Ajram who delighted the crowds by not only singing and dancing, but also posing for pictures with her fans.

A child prodigy, Ajram launched her first album 'Mouhtagalak' in 1998. She won an award as the best Arab singer in year 2003 in 'Oscar Video Festival' at Sharam Al Shaikh.

It wasn't until the early hours that Assi Helani came on stage and pleased the audience with dances from the Dabke to Huwara, and songs from bedouin to Lebanese.

The night finished on a high note with Helani singing a famous track dedicated to Lebanon, promising to rebuild his country.
