Intertec to shift focus to software solutions
Intertec Systems, the Dubai-based IT solutions company, is shifting its focus from hardware to software solutions, projecting growth rates higher than the market rate.
Despite the comparatively slow growth in the IT sector, Intertec has clocked an annual growth rate higher than the general market growth which is around 15 to 17 per cent, said Arun K. Majumdar, Executive Vice President.
Growth is driven by new software solutions currently in demand in the UAE, he added. Intertec Systems through its tie-up with U.S.-based Datastream held a seminar in the capital on assisting companies in the management of asset information and maintenance activities.
The Dubai Department of Health and Medical Services recently invested over Dh1 million to optimise maintenance operations using Datastream's asset performance management solution.
Datastream's APM solutions are also being used by the Dubai World Trade Centre, the UAE Navy, Sharjah Municipality and Abu Dhabi Ship Building, along with several other private and government companies.
Intertec is targeting companies that are "asset-centric" through its complete web-architected asset management system that can be used in any sector from healthcare and oil and gas to transportation.
Intertec's work for DOHMS began in April and is scheduled to be completed by next March. Datastream works in 140 countries and provides asset mangement software, integrated procurement and supporting services to companies counting among their clients over 60 per cent of the Fortune 500, said Jeremy Gurr, Datastream's Export Manager.
