Hamdan launches first ambulance bus
Vehicle designed for multiple services
Dubai: Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Thursday launched Dubai Ambulance Services Centre's first ambulance bus.
The bus made it into the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest bus in the world.
Accompanied by Lieutenant General Dahi Khal-fan Tamim, Dubai Police Chief, Shaikh Hamdan entered the bus and was briefed by Qadi Saeed Al Murooshid, Director General of Dubai Health Authority and Chairman of the ambulance centre, about the equipment inside the ambulance and the functions of each.
The ambulance was designed to provide treatment and surgery services as well as transfer patients with all types of injuries.Shaikh Hamdan then inspected the second and third ambulance buses, which along with the first bus constitute the fleet of the centre that is considered the first of its kind in the Middle East.
He saw the women's obstetric ambulance, which can handle emergency delivery cases. He also saw the golf ambulance.
Shaikh Hamdan praised the field ambulance units as a civilised idea, adding that it reflects the leadership's care for people and their health and safety.
Police standards hailed
Shaikh Hamdan Thursday visited the headquarters of Dubai Police, where he was received by Lieutenant General Tamim, Major General Khamis Al Mazeina, Deputy Dubai Police Chief, and other senior officers.
Shaikh Hamdan was briefed by Al Mazeina on the security and social services Dubai Police provides to the community as well as on Dubai Police's long-term strategy for development of human and material resources in order to meet the needs of the community.
He expressed satisfaction at the high work standards set and achieved by Dubai Police who won the trust of the wise leadership.
He also expressed his best wishes of success for the staff of Dubai Police.
