Successful in media, charitable at heart
Dubai: Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum was born on November 24, 1983. He received his high school diploma after attending the Rashid School for Boys in Dubai and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the American University of Dubai in 2006.
Shaikh Maktoum is the chairman of the Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone (DTMFZ), offering his guidance and steering the cluster's growth since 2002.
In addition, as chairman of Dubai Media Incorporated, he has overseen the expansion of the DTMFZ and the introduction of Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City and Knowledge Village. More entities such as the International Media Production Zone, Dubai Studio City and Dubiotech have since emerged.
Under Shaikh Maktoum's leadership, Dubai Media City has successfully consolidated itself as the regional media hub with more than 1,200 companies, including the biggest Arab and international names.
Shaikh Maktoum also has also a humanitarian role as a major campaigner for the Dubai Cares philanthropic campaign, which was launched last Ramadan.
Donations from a corporate social responsibility campaign, which he helped, constituted a significant percentage of the funds raised by Dubai Cares.
