Shaikh Abdullah in talks with Rice on Mideast peace
Abu Dhabi: Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, received on Monday a telephone call from US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
The two discussed issues related to the peace process in the Middle East, and the developments in Palestine and Iraq.Secretary Rice also thanked Shaikh Abdullah for inviting her to attend the Forum for the Future to take place in Abu Dhabi next October.
The United Arab Emirates will embrace in October 2008 the events of the fifth session of the Forum for the Future 2008, with participation and high level participation of the Group of Eight G8, and the countries of the Middle East and North Africa, and international partners from Europe, Canada and Turkey, and regional and international organizations and institutions, in addition to the organizations of the Civil society and the business sector.
The Forum for the Future 2008 has emerged from the Arab summit in Tunisia, the summit of the Group of Eight meeting in Sea Island City in the American state of Georgia in June 2004, with the participation of leaders from the Middle East, Europe and North Africa.
Its first session was held in Rabat in 2004, the second one in Manama in 2005, the third session In the Dead Sea - the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in 2006.
The Arab Republic of Yemen and Germany have also organized, some events in the fourth session of the Forum in 2007.
