Poland vows support for UAE over islands

Warsaw: Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski promised his country's support to the peaceful political course that the UAE has adopted in solving the issue of three UAE islands occupied by Iran.

At a meeting with Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair, the speaker of the UAE's Federal National Council (FNC), in the Polish capital yesterday, Sikorski also expressed the hope that a solution will surely emerge at the end of the continuous and patient efforts of the UAE.

Sikorski thanked the UAE for giving logistic support to the Polish force stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan for protecting security the people and peace in those countries.

Best ways

Al Ghurair discussed with the minister the best ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the UAE and Poland in the fields of economy and investment.

Al Ghurair also reiterated the need to support security and stability in the Middle East by finding solutions to the Palestinian issue and the Iranian nuclear impasse.
