Khalifa to lead delegation to Kuwait today
Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan will leave here today for Kuwait to congratulate His Highness Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait, on his accession as the country's emir.
Shaikh Khalifa will be accompanied by Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi of Sharjah, Shaikh Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi of Fujairah and Shaikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi of Ajman. Shaikh Khalifa's delegation will also include Shaikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Sharjah Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler, Shaikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, Shaikh Saud Bin Rashid Al Mualla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Quwain, Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Tahnoun Bin Mohammad Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region, Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs, Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, and Ahmad Juma Al Za'abi, Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs. A number of shaikhs, ministers and senior officials will also be among the delegation.
Mohammad sends cable to Mubarak
Abu Dhabi: General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Sundaysent a cable of condolence to President Mohammad Hosni Mubarak of Egypt on the death of hundreds of passengers on board the Egyptian ferry which sank in the Red Sea. Shaikh Mohammad expressed his sympathy with the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
Fatima sends condolence cable
Abu Dhabi Her Highness Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak on Sunday sent a cable of condolence to Suzanne Mubarak, wife of the Egyptian president, in which she offered condolence on the victims of the ferry which sank in the Red Sea. Shaikha Fatima also expressed sympathy with the families of the victims.
Permanent envoy to EU appointed
Brussels Mohammad Bin Salim Al Suwaidi, UAE Ambassador to Belgium, on Saturday presented his credentials as his country's permanent ambassador to the European Union (EU) to Hans Winkler, Austrian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, whose country currently chairs the EU Ministerial Council. During the meeting, they discussed relations between the UAE and member countries of the EU.
