Mohammad receives Johns Hopkins varsity delegation
Abu Dhabi: General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, yesterday received a medical delegation from Johns Hopkins University. Shaikh Mohammad was briefed by Dr Michael Klag, Dean of the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, on the latest medical studies related to blood diseases and genetic disorders. The health and medical conditions in some parts of the world were also discussed. Shaikh Mohammad stressed the UAE's keenness to benefit from the experience of prominent medical institutes in order to develop its health services and investments in the health sector.

Council approves additional funds
Abu Dhabi: General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, yesterday presided over the council's weekly meeting. The council reviewed a number of memorandums submitted by different government bodies on progress of projects, services and performance development. The council approved a memorandum by the Finance Department on additional financial allocations for water and electricity consumption. The council decided to form a committee to explore methods to boost date production.

Grace period for traders extended
Abu Dhabi: The General Secretariat of Municipalities has extended the grace period granted to meat importers from China From January 18 to March 26, provided that imports are made only from disease-free regions. Other conditions include commitment to the health and legal regulations of meat importation to the UAE.
