Mohammad seeks activation of Arab parliaments' role
Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Wednesday received Dr Mahmoud Al Abrash, Speaker of the Syrian People's Assembly.
They discussed bilateral relations and ways to preserve Arab solidarity and coordination in various fields. Shaikh Mohammad stressed the importance of activating the role of Arab parliaments in bridging the gap between Arab countries and people for the benefit of the nation's higher interests, as well as in achieving the long-standing dream of Arab citizens.
Economic factor
The Vice-President pointed to the economic factor and its role in bringing Arab citizens closer. He reaffirmed the need to focus on economic development on both domestic and national levels to ensure Arab citizens enjoy a dignified and secure life, as well as to create job opportunities for the Arab youth.
The meeting was attended by Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Deputy Ruler, Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman and CEO of Emirates Group, other shaikhs and top officials.
