Mohammad: A unique model for leaders
Dubai: Top officials have come forward to congratulate His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on the third anniversary of his accession as Ruler of Dubai.
Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), said: "May Allah also grant good health and extended life to His Highness for the benefit of the UAE people," he said.
Al Tayer said Shaikh Mohammad believes that the key strategic challenge over the next two decades hovers around who can go the extra mile to enhance performance levels, keep abreast of successive developments in various fields, introduce modern administrative concepts in customer service, attain customer satisfaction, promote resources, simplify procedures, promote a creative spirit, unleash talents and skills, serve the business community, provide an excellent investment climate, support the private sector and promote free enterprise.
"Throughout my direct dealing with Shaikh Mohammad I realised that he is a unique model for leaders; an unassuming leader who fully shoulders responsibility, and attributes all mistakes to himself and successes to the team. Yet he maintains a highly specific and consistent approach to getting the job done, and attaches full attention to detail without losing focus on strategic goals. Shaikh Mohammad always has the spirit of initiative and seeks to maintain a high degree of self-confidence and morale among his people, and constantly calls for consistency in performance and production quality," Al Tayer said.
He said Shaikh Mohammad has unlimited competitive ambition, loves to see Emiratis in the forefront, and calls upon organisations and individuals to embrace challenge and aspires for performance beyond the current levels.
Khalifa Bin Darai, Executive Manager of the Dubai Ambulance Services Centre, said: "This is a great and joyful occasion for us in the UAE because we are blessed with a leader like Shaikh Mohammad.
"We congratulate him on his accession day and are confident that 2009 will bring even more great initiatives."
Bin Darai said Shaikh Mohammad's initiatives and achievements have taken place in a short period of time, which demonstrates his ambition and eagerness to develop the country and provide the best life for everyone residing in this land.
"Dubai specifically and the UAE generally will flourish even more in the coming years under the wise leadership of Shaikh Mohammad, as he follows up the concerns of his people by visiting them and being near them," he said.
Dr Abdullah Al Karam, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director-General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), said: "On this glorious day in the heart of every Emirati and resident in our beloved country we extend our utmost gratitude and commemoration for the third anniversary of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai's accession day.
"The last three years have witnessed major developments in the UAE and Dubai. The governmental sector has changed in that it now seems like the headquarters of a major international company with a very dedicated director who works hard to ensure that best practices are implemented in all fields.
"Those three years have supported the citizens in their right to learn and develop through sustainable development plans. Such plans ensured nationals great job opportunities in the private and public sectors. It also ensured them the ability of establishing business on international levels.
"The KHDA was established in accordance with Shaikh Mohammad's directives to motivate the educational realm and society to add to the knowledge economy, as it comes in line with the federal strategy that seeks cooperation between federal and local entities, and decentralisation within those entities."
