'Leadership crisis in Arab nation'

Abu Dhabi/Dubai: President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Sunday received His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who presented him with the first copy of his new book, My Vision Challenges in the Race for Excellence.

In the book, which was launched in Dubai and Beirut yesterday, Shaikh Mohammad describes the exceptional development of Dubai and the UAE. He also reflects on the current state of the Arab nation, which, he says, "suffers from a crisis of leadership and management" and the selfish tendencies of some leaders. The English version will be published soon.

Also yesterday, Shaikh Mohammad inaugurated Careers UAE 2006, the recruitment, training and education exhibition at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

During his tour of the exhibition, he urged nationals to seize the opportunities offered by the public and private sectors.

"The government fully supports the private sector and provides it with the concessions and infrastructure needed to exercise its role, in coordination with the government, to draw a new concept of creating a bright future for the young generation," he said.
