Expats meet UNB in cricket final

Mohammed Bilal snapped up four wickets while Arshad Ali slammed a solid half-century as Expats Club defeated Emirates Airline by seven wickets to enter the final of the Emirates Airline Cup tournament, organised by the Dubai Cricket Council. Expats will take on Union National Bank (UNB) in the final today at the DCC grass ground. Bilal bowled with nagging accuracy to trouble the Emirates batsmen who tended to be a bit out of sorts. Kashif Khan hit 52 off 86 balls as Emirates were bowled out for 146 in 38.3 overs.

Dubai. Jumeirah Beach Wanderers, aided by solid contributions from their frontline batsmen, beat Maro Polo by 106-run in the inter-hotel tournament, organised by the Dubai Cricket Council.
Ashok stroked 79 while Kamal hammered 86 and Adnan an equally-aggressive 58 as Jumeirah Beach Wanderers piled up a huge 265 for five in the allotted 25 overs. Salim and Milantha shared four wickets for Marco Polo.

Dubai. Zaheer Ahmed struck a glorious century, but his efforts failed to prevent Kibsons from crashing to a 54-run defeat against CSS in the DCC Invitation League tournament, organised by the Dubai Cricket Council.

Dubai. Iqbal lashed an unbeaten century and Ali Ahmed dished out a brilliant all-round performance as Star Club beat Farooq Club by 146 runs in the Mobil Cup. Iqbal hit 112 not out with 19 fours and one six while Ali Ahmed contributed 78 with 11 fours and Jarnail Singh chipped in with 49 to help Star Club score a mammoth 307 for four in the allotted 25 overs.
