Dubai: Dubai Airport Freezone (Dafza) opened its photo exhibition on Sunday morning of the visit to Dafza last month of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

The photos from the exhibition will be sold in an auction on Thursday, and the money raised will go to charity. There was also a photo caption competition for Dafza employees.

The photos show some of the moments during Shaikh Mohammad’s visit and his interaction with the staff.

The visit by Shaikh Mohammad had a positive impact on the staff of the free zone and increased their morale, Dr Mohammad Zarouni, Director General of Dafza, told Gulf News. “The Shaikh’s visit is like a medal of honor on our chests and show a lot of support for us.”

“If we had spent millions on marketing and publicity, it would not have had the same effect the Shaikh’s visit had on Dafza,” he added.

He said that the exhibition aims to keep the memory alive so employees will not forget this important event. “The benefits of this visit will continue even after the exhibition.”

“His esteemed leadership has given us valuable guidance and has increased our productivity as a free zone. Approximately 13,000 employees operate out of the free zone across more than 1,600 companies, and together we are working towards adding value to the UAE’s national economy.” Al Zarouni added.
