Dubai: A thunderstorm reduced visibility to 500 metres in Dubai on Saturday.
A duty forecaster at Dubai International Airport said the thunderstorm developed in offshore areas at 11.15am before moving northwest to southeast across the city.
The storm slowly began to dissipate at 12.30pm but windy conditions prevailed across Dubai for the remainder of the afternoon with a light sandstorm followed by light rainfall in some areas.
The maximum temperature in the UAE on Saturday was 31 degrees Celsius while the minimum was 22 degrees. North-easterly gusts of 35-40 knots contributed to a cool and breezy day.
The next few days are forecast to be fine and settled although there is a slight chance of further isolated thunderstorms.
