Emirates Palace gears up for festivities

Will showcase largest human flag and offer breathtaking displays for National Day celebrations

Abu Dhabi:  Emirates Palace will offer a series of exciting events to showcase Abu Dhabi during the National Day celebrations.

One of the attractions lined up for the day is the largest human flag on record that was created by 600 employees of Emirates Palace.

The flag represents over 50 different nationalities in the run-up to this special occasion with unique National Day greetings in all languages.

There will also be video performances on both on the Emirates Palace website and on numerous large plasma screens on display at the Emirates Palace from tomorrow.

An exclusive exhibition will start tomorrow at the Emirates Palace Dome. It will include a 38-tiered National Day Cake, a display of 38 types of dates, the exclusive showing of a painting by Van Merbeck of Shaikh Zayed and a traditional Bedouin Tent.

Starting Wednesday, Emirates Palace will dramatically light up the night sky with an uniquely designed and orchestrated laser show that will start at sunset and end at midnight. This will take place over one week .

On National Day, Emirates Palace will stage the world's largest pyrotechnics display and storm into the Guinness Book of Records. The skyline of Abu Dhabi will be lit up with displays of up to 2,000 metres high. The spectacular show starts at 8.30pm.

Synchronised music

Three barges will be located at the Emirates Palace Marina Bay and five alongside the West Corniche Road with synchronised music. A further four locations are situated opposite ADNEC, Shaikh Zayed Mosque, Marina Bateen and Beach Palace Al Salam Street, to ensure the capital's residents can enjoy the performance.
