Student cultural exchange event aims to build leaders
Dubai: A five-day conference organised by the Dubai Women's College brought together female students from across the UAE and 21 countries yesterday for cultural exchange and enhancement of leadership skills.
Dubbed 'Insight Dubai', the annual conference is part of an on-going effort to provide international exposure to students and increased global awareness, said an event organiser.
Students from the United States, Costa Rica, Pakistan, South Korea, Bulgaria and a number of African countries participated. The event will conclude on April 12.
The conference will feature Mariam Mohammad Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of Social Affairs, and Nima Abu Wardeh, presenter of BBC World's Middle East Business Report, to talk about women leaders in the Arab world.
The event will also include UN simulation workshops to promote world peace, and sessions on Sharia law and Arab governance systems.
