Abu Dhabi: Over 20,000 students from public and private schools across Abu Dhabi participated in the 7th summer challenge programme.
The summer courses - including art, science, information technology, vocational, social and sports - ended on Thursday.
The courses known as Sayfuna Mumayaz (meaning special summer), which began in June, was offered to students from grades 1 to 11 by 1,000 teachers across 86 scattered centers in three educational zones in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the western region.
The Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) decided to introduce the programme seven years ago to help enhance students' academic, practical skills and encourage students to make use of their summer holidays.
